As a tint base it is coloured in-store, then provides a durable, stain and scratch resistant finish. Being UV resistant and waterproof it works outdoors as well as inside. Sand bare timber with 180-240 grit and strip previously coated surfaces before applying. Recoat in 2 hours and clean up with water.

Cabot's 1L Gloss Tint Base Water Based Stain and Varnish is a combined stain and varnish for timber applications. This water-based formula provides a durable, stain and scratch resistant finish while protecting the natural timber grain from age and wear. It is UV resistant and waterproof, making it suitable for interior and exterior timber, and as a tint base it is coloured to your chosen shade. With a low odour, it is easy to apply. Preparation involves sanding bare timber with 180-240 grit sandpaper and ensuring previously coated surfaces are stripped clean. Stir well before application.
