Jingle Jollys
Chocolate advent calendars tend to disappear in a flash. If you would rather have a countdown that stays on display all month, this wooden calendar marks the run to Christmas with a star you move by hand.
The scene shows a wintry village in the Alps, with laser-cut detailing that includes Santa riding his sled and a snowman among the houses. Starting on 1 December, shift the star forward a step every day until it lands on Christmas Eve. Built-in lights give the whole scene a cosy glow, and the timer keeps them on for six hours before switching off for 18. It runs on three AA batteries, and Duracell batteries are supplied.
