Align the push pin with the chain pin before use. Fully retract the press pin into the bolt body, clamp the bolt body onto the link, then advance the press pin to avoid bending it. The supplier recommends grinding off the chain pin head first to reduce tool load and premature wear or damage to the breaking tips.
